Most recognized for its appearance in the third and seventh seasons of Thomas and Friends, this signal box provides a wonderfully unique style to the railway. For this project I wanted to replicate the signal box using CAD design and 3D printing, whilst experimenting with assembling the roof’s unique shape out of plastic sheets. While I might revisit this project with a darker green one day, for now I am quite pleased with the end result and am especially happy with the confidence this project gave me in assembling differently shaped roofs!

My CAD design of the structure

The structure after printing and assembly - a little out of scale, but still fits in very well!

Plastic texture sheets were used for the roof, cut in a specific pattern to create the unique roof shape. Toothpicks were used for the roof poles.
